There’s been an explosion of medical apps for the iPhone and other smartphone platforms. Most are geared toward doctors and patients, but a growing subset targets drug developers.
Among them are apps that help users find clinical trials and that aid in capturing and reporting outcomes data. Imaging apps are clearly on the rise. Even some clinical trial management systems are sporting mobile functions. Nextrials and DATATRAK both introduced i-Pad versions of their EDC/CTMS offerings in 2010.
Here’s a sampling of smartphone and tablet apps intended to aid increasingly mobile investigators and their counterparts at sponsor companies.
