Imaging Core Lab for Clinical TrialsRead about Our Mission
WorldCare Clinical (WCC) is an imaging CRO that provides end-to-end imaging services for clinical trials in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries. We work to deliver clean data as quickly and at the lowest cost as possible to our clinical trial sponsors, leveraging our unprecedented breadth and depth of therapeutic knowledge, modality expertise, innovative technology, operational excellence, and proven experience with regulatory bodies to harmonize the entire trial process and speed the discovery and delivery of new therapeutic treatments that improve patient quality of life.
Founded in 1992 as part of the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Department of Radiology, we’ve maintained a strategic relationship with this department since we became a separate company in 1995. This relationship continues even as we’ve become a part of the Cincinnati-based ProScan Imaging group of companies.
Conveniently headquartered near MGH in Boston, Massachusetts, WCC enjoys arelationship with the MGH Department of Radiology that allows us to provide our clinical trial sponsors with access to radiologists in the MGH Clinical Trials Program, thus providing our sponsors with a range of experience in multiple subspecialties and modalities. Both leaders in our respective fields, MGH radiologists and WCC central reading services are on the forefront of imaging in clinical trials.
In addition to MGH physician readers, WCC recently partnered with the University of Chicago Medical Center to utilize its image analysis and interpretation capabilities, as well as its world-class radiologists. WCC also has the expertise of our parent company’s 24 in-house radiologists. A leading operator of global freestanding diagnostic imaging centers, ProScan enhances WCC’s global radiology network, supports expertise in imaging technology, and provides in-house radiology proficiency. ProScan technology and radiologists manage and read more than 1,000 images daily, on a global basis.
Depending on the specialized service our sponsor requests, WCC will work directly with the medical experts within the MGH Department of Radiology or the University of Chicago Medical Center, with our in-house medical expertise, or with radiologists of our sponsor’s choosing anywhere in the world. Unique to WCC, this model provides us with access to enormous therapeutic expertise and on-demand flexibility in terms of growth and handling large volumes of imaging trials—without additional fixed costs.
WCC is a global company, having conducted trials in more than 45 countries. Our trials are managed via our headquarters in Cambridge to ensure that sponsors receive the highest level of data consistency and quality control. To date we've processed 1 million+ images, enrolled 35,000+ images, and served 1,500+ investigator sites. No matter where in the world our sponsor's readers are, we move clean images to them as quickly and cost-effectively as possible. |
