Our Company Background

WorldCare Clinical (WCC) was founded under a different name in 1992 by the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Department of Radiology to provide drug development services to the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. It was spun out as an independent company in 1995, but maintained its strategic relationship with the MGH Department of Radiology, utilizing its radiologists as independent central readers.

Today, our strategic relationship with the MGH Department of Radiology continues to benefit clinical trial sponsors.  Since WCC’s inception, we’ve provided sponsors with the therapeutic and modality expertise of MGH’s highly respected radiologists.

WCC’s continued evolution over the past 14 years has led us to new ownership. In mid-2006, ProScan Imaging acquired majority ownership of the company. One of the world’s most trusted and experienced teleradiology providers, ProScan annually manages more than 300,000 radiology cases and provides reads for hundreds of facilities around the world.

An industry leader in operating freestanding diagnostic imaging centers, ProScan’s global technological expertise and teleradiology capabilities enhance WCC’s operational capabilities by expanding our ability to manage virtually any volume of images for our trials, while evolving our service offerings and expanding our global reach as the imaging industry grows.
